Even thought we try to keep things light on the #HRSocialHour chats, sometimes, we do dig a little deeper. As it’s #MentalHealthAwareness month and we are still in the middle of a crisis, this felt like the right time to talk about mental health in the work place.
It was a great conversation, it was challenging. We all want and need to do better, but we hesitate, we struggle. We don’t want to say the wrong thing, we don’t want to make things worse, which also happens if we don’t say or do anything at all. I personally feel like I learned a lot during the conversation. And one take away for you all: HIPAA is for healthcare providers — it’s about the patient; ADA is for employers — it’s about employees.
